On Friday, June 21st, JCRC’s Paul Rockower and Amanda Garcia supported ONE Community at the Point of Pride summit. We celebrated diversity, equity, and inclusion while learning how to be active allies. We learned various strategies for exercising our power as allies such as recognizing and removing barriers to access at events.
A panel of local leaders shared important insights and a business case for DEI. Considering that by 2043, the US will be a majority minority country, it makes sense to be inclusive and prepare for the changing workforce. Despite political pressure to reduce DEI policies, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion is the right thing to do and builds stronger businesses and communities. Psychological safety is a human right.
