On April 20, 2020, the JCRC was proud to partner with the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix, the Martin Pear JCC and the Ina Levine Jewish Community Campus to host a joint Jewish community blood drive with Vitalant. The blood drive proved to be a great success, and over 60 individuals came out to donate much-needed blood.
Check out the wonderful article in the Jewish News on the combined efforts of the Jewish communiti to conduct this blood-drive in the age of social distancing. JCRC Executive Director Paul Rockower, who donated blood for the first time, is quoted in the article:
“It was a great win for the community, because it was community partners working together,” said Paul Rockower, executive director of the JCRC. “Everyone has really pitched in to put this together, because it’s not easy to do a blood drive in an age of social distancing.”
